Environmental Management

The environmental management applies to the scale of the area of a specific project on a local scale (e.g. an ecosystem), but also on a wider scale (eg regional or national). Integrated environmental management (Integrated Environmental Management - IEM) provides a tool to improve the consistency and coherence between different policies from an environmental standpoint, and a means to maximize the effectiveness of these policies within available budgets. It can also provide greater transparency in policymaking and to encourage greater participation and acceptance by the public's perspective.

Integrated environmental management is fully consistent with the Lisbon strategy for innovation, competitiveness, growth and employment, and experience shows that creating an integrated system of environmental management can contribute to furthering the objectives of sustainability.

AXON, since its foundation, has implemented numerous similar projects in this field as well, gaining thus considerable experience in these issues.
