The aim of the NanoExplore project is to develop and demonstrate the feasibility of an integrated approach for conducting bio-monitoring studies, to characterize exposure levels and to investigate potential health effects arising from exposure to artificial nanomaterials in indoor and outdoor workplaces. For the abovementioned, are provided the following:
- Τhe development of a low cost wireless sensor network, for monitoring the concentration of ENMs and related environmental parameters in indoor and urban areas.
- The development of an online data management tool for monitoring the state of health, collecting and managing data for ENMs’ concentration.
- Identification and validation of a group of biomarkers for exposure to ENMs by inhalation.
- Implementation of pilot capaigns and demonstration actions to validate the NanoExplore approach and produce useful conclusions on the health effects of ENMs in working sites and urban areas.
