Mapping οf Atmospheric Pollution in Greece. Implementation of Air Pollutants Measurements and Chemical Analyses, Development of Emission Inventories and Application of 3-D Atmospheric Models, Ministry of Environment and Energy (MEEN), 2014-2015.

Τhe objective of the project is the development of an air quality mapping system according to the provisions of the Directive 2008/50/EC. More specifically, in the framework of project:

  • The division of the country into zones and agglomerations has been re-examined according to the requirements of the Directive 2008/50/EC.
  • Measurements campaigns have been designed and carried out according to the requirements of the European legislation and the provisions of the contract.
  • The concentration levels of the pollutants were estimated with the use of models (dispersion model, photochemical model, meteorological model), following the estimation of the necessary input data, i.e. pollutant emissions.
  • A geographic database was developed for the mapping of the pollution levels, in wich all results were registered according to the analysis requires by the EU legislation for air quality.
